Editorial Integrity & Transparency Policy

Corrections & Editorial Accuracy Policy

Our commitment to mathematical rigor, verified statutory accuracy, and immediate public disclosure of any calculation revisions.

1. Our Accuracy Mandate

mytakehomecalc.co.uk operates with a single mathematical standard: zero divergence from official legislation published by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), HM Treasury, Revenue Scotland, the Welsh Revenue Authority, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Because UK taxpayers rely on our calculations for payroll budgeting, dividend distributions, and mortgage applications, precision is our paramount responsibility.

2. How Corrections Are Handled

When an error, mathematical discrepancy, or ambiguity is identified in any calculation engine, table, or editorial guide, our protocol requires:

  • Immediate Engine Triage: The underlying formula in uk-tax-engine.js is audited and corrected immediately in our staging environment.
  • Public Logging: The correction is logged with the date, scope, affected URLs, and statutory rationale in our public Calculation Change Log.
  • Archival Traceability: Previous statutory rates and revision reasons are documented so taxpayers who ran calculations under earlier assumptions can verify differences.

3. Reporting an Error or Discrepancy

We welcome audits, peer review, and feedback from chartered accountants, payroll professionals, tax advisers, and the general public. If you believe any tool or figure does not match current statutory guidelines, please report it directly to our editorial team:

Editorial & Technical Corrections Team:

Please include: (1) The page URL, (2) The input parameters used, (3) The expected figure citing the official GOV.UK/HMRC manual, and (4) The figure produced by the tool.

4. Policy on Changes in Government Guidance

When HMRC or the Chancellor of the Exchequer introduces mid-year amendments, statutory instrument updates, or budget adjustments, our computational parameters are updated within 24 hours of Royal Assent or official technical note publication. All such updates are published with explicit effective dates.
